Happy Belated Birthday Style Rookie!

I think you've officially outgrown your status as "rookie". Thank you for your recent post on "Beauty Icons" which was, well...very beautiful. And readers, maybe you have a little money from a tax refund you want to put to good use? Style Rookie is raising money and awareness for the Darfur Crisis as part of her Bat Mitzvah service project. You can check her cool clothing auctions out at Clothing With a Cause or donate directly to STAND.
IRL: Heidi Merrick Janie Coat
I just received the Heidi Merrick coat and I adore it. I think it's my new favorite. Anyway, here's a picture of me in my new coat.
Thanks!
Kim

This email from Le Train Bleu customer Kim totally made my day yesterday. Isn't she gorgeous in her new coat? Very sophisticated, feminine, and cool. It looks like it was made for her and the color makes me think of Pierre Bonnard. Kim, if you were here I would make you pose for me in your coat in a room full of lilacs and blue hydrangeas and take your picture!***************************

Eric Rose
I take photographs with love, so I try to make them art objects. But I make them for myself first and foremost - that is important.
Jacques-Henri Lartigue
****************************
Eric Rose is a Portland-based photographer and mad genius. You can stalk him online at the same places I do, flickr and his personal site filmesque. He counts Paolo Roversi (weighty and introspective) and Henri Lartigue (sparkling and high-spirited) as heroes and somehow his work manages to incorporate both of those personalities. Here are some of his shots from last week featuring some Le Train Bleu styles: the Sophomore Black Twist Tank and the Heidi Merrick Traveling Dress. The other mad geniuses at work here? Despite her chameleon talents you probably recognize the amazing model Sarah Schroeder--she's been around these parts before. As has MUA and stylist Lindsey Avenetti.
